Terms of service

01Agreement

These terms apply when you use our website, request a quote, open an account or book any service with TheJordans Logistics. By doing so you agree to these terms. If you book for a company, you confirm you are allowed to bind it.

02Our services

We arrange ocean, air and road freight, parcels, warehousing, customs brokerage and pet transport. We may carry shipments ourselves or through carefully chosen partners. The exact service, route and timing are set out in your booking confirmation.

03Quotes and bookings

• Quotes are free and valid for 14 days unless the quote says otherwise.
• Prices depend on the details you give us. If the actual size, weight or contents differ, the price may change.
• A booking is confirmed when we send you a booking confirmation with a tracking number.
• Transit times are estimates, not guarantees, unless a guaranteed service is clearly stated.

04Your responsibilities

When you ship with us, you agree to:

• Describe your goods accurately, including their value, weight and contents.
• Pack goods so they can travel safely, and label every piece.
• Provide correct addresses, contact details and the documents customs require.
• Not ship prohibited or illegal items, or dangerous goods without declaring them.
• Make sure pets meet all health, crate and import rules for their route.

05Prohibited items

We will not carry weapons, illegal drugs, counterfeit goods, hazardous waste, or any item banned by the countries involved. Lithium batteries, chemicals and other dangerous goods may travel only when declared and packed to regulations. We may refuse, hold or return any shipment we believe breaks these rules.

06Prices and payment

• Prices are in US dollars and exclude duties and taxes unless stated.
• Pay as you go customers pay before the shipment leaves.
• Business and Enterprise accounts are invoiced monthly and pay within 30 or 60 days, as agreed.
• Late payments may incur interest of 1.5% per month, and we may hold shipments until accounts are settled.
• Duties, taxes and charges from authorities are your responsibility, even if we pay them on your behalf.

07Customs

If you ask us to clear customs, you appoint us as your agent to file entries and pay duties for you. You remain responsible for the accuracy of the information and for any duties, taxes, fines or storage charges that result from it.

08Liability and insurance

Our liability for loss or damage is limited to the lower of the actual loss or the limits set by the international conventions that apply, such as the Montreal Convention for air freight, the Hague-Visby Rules for ocean freight and the CMR for road freight within Europe. We are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits or delays. For full cover, add our cargo insurance when you book.

09Claims

• Note any visible damage on the delivery receipt.
• Tell us about loss or damage within 7 days of delivery, or within 14 days of the expected delivery date if the shipment is lost.
• Keep the goods and packaging for inspection.
• Send photos and proof of value with your claim. We aim to resolve claims within 30 days.

10Accounts

Keep your login details private. You are responsible for activity on your account. We may suspend accounts that are misused, unpaid or used to break these terms.

11Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of New Jersey, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it locally.

12Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page on the date you book applies to that booking. We will email account holders about important changes.
